About Me
I was born in Canada and moved to the US in 2001. I grew up in Vernon, British Columbia and have also lived in Vancouver, Toronto, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Today, home is Washington, DC.
Before taking my coaching business full-time in 2024, I spent 20 years in project management, fundraising, and leadership roles in not-for-profit organizations. I always wanted my paid job to help make the world a better place. While it was a privilege to focus on missions like fighting climate change and protecting wildlife, all along I felt like something was missing. More than the job I was supposed to be doing, I was drawn toward helping individuals build their career paths, position themselves for success, and generally be happier at work.
I believe we are most powerful when we can be who we really are. We make our best contribution to the world when we play to our strengths and act authentically—not when we try to fit a mold or conform to expectations. I want to support individuals in discovering their strengths and create workplaces where strengths can shine.
Today I work with people looking for clarity, confidence, and momentum. My clients get unstuck. They stop procrastinating, turn down the volume on self-criticism, and make real progress toward the life they want.
The power of coaching became clear when I experienced it as a client. My coaching journey started when I was feeling really stuck and had no idea what I wanted or what was next. Through my work with my coach (the amazing Kelley Edelblut over at Pathways to the Future) I became aware of how many self-limiting (and untrue!) stories I was telling myself, and how anxiety and perfectionism were holding me back. I emerged with a wider sense of options, stronger trust in myself and excitement about pursuing what I want.
The right coach will act as a thought partner, sounding board, great listener, and cheerleader all in one. Witnessing clients' individuality is truly inspiring to me--there's nothing better than helping someone get connected to their strengths and seeing them step into their greatness.
